Karaoke

Karaoke is one of our favorite activities at ARS. It’s a monthly hit! We listened to what our participants were saying and they wanted MORE TIME! So April 1st we tried out the longer time. Instead of just one hour we had TWO full hours of FUN! Singing, dancing, and cheering each other on. That’s a good night right there.
ARS Scouts

Adaptive Recreational Services has partnered up with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America to bring some fun opportunities to ARS participants. It turns out that a lot of the fun things that we ALREADY do are also things that can earn merit badges and belt loops with Scouts! Beyond that, there is also more to learn, do, and explore!
The Boy Scouts’ motto is “Do Your Best”. ARS likes that a lot. We all want to try to do our best! With this in mind, some of the Scout activities are going to be adapted for our group so that we can also earn awards. The second Tuesday of each month will now be slated for Scout Night. Anyone can come to these nights. Rob Swanson, District Executive for Boy Scouts of America, will plan a monthly topic.
Those who register to be Scouts can earn badges/belt loops/etc. Registration must be completed at the ARS office during office hours. Anyone can be a Boy Scout, even females ages 18 and over. Females under 18 can sign up to be a Girl Scout. There is a simple registration packet that will be kept at the office. A guardian will need to sign it. There is an annual fee, but Boy Scouts are looking to find funding to support our group.
This is a great opportunity for Adaptive Recreational Services participants to learn and grow. We hope that you sign up to be a Scout. If you don’t sign up you can still participate in all of the ARS events, but you will not earn a badge.
As a Scout, you can then also participate in Boy Scout activities beyond what ARS has planned! You will also have insurance through Scouts as well. What a great benefit! More information on insurance is available when requested.
Please feel free to contact Cat at the ARS office with any questions or concerns.
Thank you!
Milk Moola Fundraiser

Just a reminder that Milk Moola items can be dropped off at the ARS office at any time in the box outside of the office. There are designated slots for the different items. Every little bit helps. When you are craving ice cream, donuts, or need some milk or creamer, please consider getting them from Kwik Trip and then turning in the caps, ovals, and UPCs to ARS. Thank you!
New Website

Over the weekend I just kept thinking about the new website and what I wanted to do with it. I had questions about it and what I could do, what I couldn’t do, and just really wanted to get started on it.
Today I’ve done a lot that I wanted to get done including linking our Facebook page and adding an RSVP submission page. These things have taken a bit of time but I think everything is coming along smoothly! I can’t wait to get some pictures up here, too. Everything I do I have to learn how to do first as this site is completely different than any site I’ve built before! Learning is fun! Take a look around and get familiarized with what I have so far. I really like this look and I can’t wait to add the new logo!
Here’s a few of the fun projects the Youth Group made last week.
Hello world!
This is the NEW ARS website! I’m still working on it as the transfer just went through. There’s a bit of a learning curve, but I wanted to get something up before the weekend. I may change the template again next week. 🙂
